Silver's Deli in Bramley named Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year 2025

It is not every day that a neighbourhood deli in west Leeds is named the best restaurant on a national stage. But in September 2025, Silver's Deli in Bramley was crowned Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year, a remarkable result for a business that had only been open since 2023.
The deli was founded by Chris Riley-Smith, who appears as Chris Riley in some reports. He named the business after his daughter, a small detail that says a lot about the personal spirit behind it.
The competition was considerable. Silver's Deli was chosen from more than 130 nominated restaurants across the UK and Ireland, and the title came with a grand prize of £100,000. Each of the 12 finalists also received £5,000 and support from Uber Eats.
For the founder, the win was a dream come true, and coverage of the award noted the national attention it brought to a sandwich shop in Leeds. It is a story that many small business owners will recognise: a few years of long days and hard graft, followed by a moment when the wider world suddenly takes notice.
Crucially, the prize money is being put back into the business. Chris Riley-Smith said it would fund a refurbishment of the current site and improvements to in-store operations, as well as supporting sales growth, with reports also pointing to ambitions to grow across Yorkshire.
That makes the win good news for Bramley as much as for the deli. Independent food businesses help give a neighbourhood its character, and seeing one of them recognised nationally is a boost for the whole area.
It is also a reminder that great food in Leeds is not confined to the city centre. Some of the most loved spots are the local places people pop into for lunch, where the owner knows the regulars and the menu reflects someone's personal passion.
If you have not yet tried Silver's Deli, it is well worth a trip to Bramley to see what all the fuss is about, or you can order through Uber Eats if you would rather enjoy it at home.
