Elethea Studios grows from a Seacroft reformer Pilates studio to a Yorkshire name

Some businesses start with a spreadsheet. Elethea Studios started with a recovery. Founder Holly Puddephatt discovered how much Pilates could help her after a birth injury following the arrival of her daughter, and that experience set her on a new path.

At the time, she had spent around two decades working in financial services. She decided to step away from that career and build something of her own, and in August 2024 she opened a reformer Pilates studio at Limewood Business Park in Seacroft.

The studio first traded as Eleven Eleven. Its opening drew attention in the local press, with pictures of the bright new space shared as it welcomed its first clients. The business later went through a full rebrand and became Elethea Studios.

Growth came quickly. The success of the Seacroft studio led to a second site in York, which opened in January 2025, and a Wakefield studio followed. Plans for a further studio at Cardale Park in Harrogate were also announced, taking a single Leeds studio to a small Yorkshire group in a remarkably short time.

Classes cover both mat and reformer Pilates, and the studios run select pre-natal, post-natal and men's only sessions. That range makes sense given where the founder's own journey began, and it opens the door to people who might not otherwise feel that a Pilates studio is for them.

Reformer Pilates has become one of the most talked-about ways to exercise in recent years, and Leeds now has plenty of studios to choose from. Elethea has found its place by pairing that popular format with a clear personal story and a focus on supporting people through different stages of life.
